Passport and visa
A passport is not required for domestic flights within Norway. If you are travelling to the United Kingdom or certain other destinations operated by our partners, a passport and/or visa is required.

Although there is passport-free travel within Schengen, Norwegian citizens and other travellers must always carry a valid passport or national ID card, as these are the only internationally recognised identity documents.
The authorities in Belgium require Norwegians to have a passport or national ID card
The Schengen area consists of
Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Croatia, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and Austria.
Outside Schengen
United Kingdom
For security reasons, UK authorities require all airlines to register certain types of passenger information before departure. This is done through online check-in, mobile app or airport kiosk. All required information can be found on the photo page of your passport.
Are you travelling to the United Kingdom after 2 April? Then all travellers must apply for an ETA before travelling. Read more about ETA and visas in this article.
Europe (outside Schengen) and other continents
When travelling outside Schengen and to other continents, you must always ensure you have all necessary documents required for entry to the country you are visiting. Examples of necessary documents may include passport, visa, ticket, vaccination card, etc. For more information, contact the embassy of the country you are visiting.
USA
All visitors to the USA must have a machine-readable passport or visa. If you do not have an electronic passport, you must have a valid visa. Upon arrival in the USA, travellers must be photographed and fingerprinted. When travelling to the USA, all passengers must register with ESTA. You must also register passport information with the airline you are flying with, so we recommend checking the relevant airline’s website.
