Flying while pregnant

If you are pregnant and your general health condition is stable, you may travel without restrictions during pregnancy up to 4 weeks before the due date. We also recommend that you check with your insurance company as they may have requirements beyond this.

From two to four weeks before the due date

If it is two to four weeks before the due date, a medical certificate from a doctor or midwife is required. This must include the following: Passenger's name, reference number, name and telephone number of the attending doctor/midwife, doctor's/midwife's signature, due date, and how far along the pregnancy is. In addition, the flight time must not exceed four hours.

Less than two weeks before the due date

Pregnant passengers are not accepted with less than two weeks until the due date.

The following exceptions apply on the routes listed below:

Pregnant women up to and including week 39 of pregnancy (one week before the due date) may fly without a companion provided that a medical certificate* from the day before or the same day can be presented. Please note that this applies to pregnant women expecting one (1) child. For pregnant women expecting two (2) or more children, there are stricter restrictions.

This applies to direct flights with a flight time of less than 60 minutes.
