You can apply to bring a dog or cat in the cabin or hold. Book by adding pets under additional services in the booking. Widerøe checks capacity for the selected flight and you will receive confirmation by email upon approved application. Your ticket will only be issued once the pet is approved for travel.
Widerøe recommends reserving space for pets as early as possible, especially during the hunting season. If you book a flight less than 72 hours before departure, we will try to assist to the best of our ability, but there is no guarantee of available capacity for your needs.
NB! During periods around holidays and vacations, pets are not accepted in the hold. This is because we expect passengers to travel with a lot of luggage during these periods. Also note that unaccompanied minors (UM) cannot bring animals (neither in the cabin nor in the hold).

Book space for your pet
If you have already booked a ticket, you can easily add a request to bring your pet in the cabin or hold under additional services in My Trips.

Pets in the hold
Please note the following when transporting pets in the hold

- The form "Live Animal Acceptance Checklist" must be printed out and completed before you arrive at the airport. The form can be found here.
- Only hard cages/crates with secure doors are acceptable. Cages made of steel mesh and netting are not allowed for transport (Weld Mesh Containers).
- The animal must be able to stand upright with its head raised inside the cage/crate, be able to turn around and lie comfortably.
- The crate must be waterproof and have an absorbent mat at the bottom.
- Due to small cargo holds on Widerøe aircraft, a maximum of one cage/crate size (maximum dimensions 102x69x76cm) per flight is accepted. The combined total weight of the cage and animal cannot exceed 45 kg.
- Two animals weighing up to 14 kg each, and of the same size, are allowed in the same crate as long as they are used to being together
- Up to 3 puppies/kittens from the same litter are allowed to be sent in the same crate if they are not older than 6 months
- Pets of unusual size or wild animals, reptiles and rodents are not allowed as baggage but can be sent as freight. Please contact Widerøe Cargo.
- NB! During periods around holidays and vacations, pets are not accepted in the hold. This is because we expect passengers to travel with a lot of luggage during these periods.
- Unaccompanied minors (UM) cannot bring animals.
- Unfortunately, it is not possible to send pets in the hold from Dublin International Airport due to limitations in the airport's baggage system. This restriction does not apply to pets in the cabin from/to Dublin or pets to Dublin in the hold.

Pets on journeys from the United Kingdom
Due to Brexit, we unfortunately cannot accept any form of pets on our routes between the United Kingdom and Bergen/Stavanger. These animals must pass through one of the Norwegian Food Safety Authority’s border control stations, and currently the Norwegian Food Safety Authority has not established such a station at Bergen Airport or Stavanger Airport. If you are bringing pets from the United Kingdom, they must enter Norway via Oslo Airport or a European border control station located at airports such as Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, etc.
For more information, see the Norwegian Food Safety Authority’s website.
