Which payment cards can I use?

You can use the following card types when purchasing on our website: Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
 

Can I pay by invoice?

No, we do not offer invoice payments.
 

Is there a fee for paying?

It is free to pay with private Visa and MasterCard cards issued in Norway and Europe.

For American Express, a fee of 2.5% is added, and for corporate cards and cards not issued in the EU/EEA area, a payment fee of 2.2% of the total purchase amount is added. This is to cover the extra cost we incur from the credit card company when using such cards.
 

Do I need to identify myself when paying?

In principle, the card company uses the card information you have entered, but sometimes they require secure confirmation of who you are. You do this with Bank-ID or a similar method. In this step, you must identify yourself to the bank/card company.
 

Why was my credit card declined?

There can be several reasons why the card is declined. Some of the main reasons are: 

  • There are insufficient funds on the card
  • The card number, CVC/CCV code or expiry date is incorrect
  • The card is blocked for online purchases

Note that it is the card company/bank that decides whether a purchase should be approved or not. 
 

Where can I find my CVC/CCV code?

It depends a little on which card you have. On Visa and MasterCard, you can find it as a three-digit code on the back. On AmEx, it is a four-digit code on the front of the card.
 

It looks like the amount has been charged twice?

When you have paid for the ticket, a reservation is first made on the card, which is done to ensure that there are enough funds on the card when the amount is charged. The reservation is marked with "Widerøe". Within 1-2 days, the card is charged and the amount is transferred to us. Then it will show Widerøe and a ticket number (701 + ten digits). The reservation should be removed at the same time as the amount is charged. Sometimes it can take a little time before the reservation disappears. 
 

How long does it take before I receive the money back in my account after cancellation?

We refund the amount immediately, but you should expect 7-10 days before the card issuer returns the money to your account.
 

Where can I find the receipt?

If you have booed your trip at www.wideroe.no, You can find your receipt on My trips or a link to the receipt in the booking confirmation sent to you by email.
If you have booked your trip with someone else, you must contact them for a receipt.

Which payment methods are accepted at the airport?

At Widerøe's service stations at the airport, you can only pay with payment cards. It is not possible to pay with cash. 

 

Which payment methods are accepted on board? 

On board our aircraft, you can pay with card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. You cannot pay with cash on board.
